Meath's Roofline Specialists —
Fascias, Soffits & Gutters Replaced Properly

Your roofline — the fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes that run around the edge of your roof — does a job that most homeowners never think about until something goes wrong. It channels hundreds of litres of rainwater away from your home every year, ventilates your roof space, closes off the roof edge from birds and pests, and gives your home a clean, finished appearance from the street.

When any part of the roofline fails, the consequences move quickly. Overflowing gutters soak into walls. Rotting fascia boards expose roof timbers. Blocked downpipes cause water to back up against the house. And on older Irish homes with timber fascias and soffits, rot spreads silently until it becomes a significant and expensive problem.

Mr Clean Roofing replaces old and failing roofline systems across County Meath with quality uPVC fascias, soffits, gutters and downpipes. uPVC does not rot, does not need painting, and when correctly installed will give you decades of trouble-free performance. We also carry out repairs to existing guttering and roofline systems where replacement is not yet warranted.

Patrick and his team carry out every job — no subcontractors. Free survey, written quote, all work guaranteed.

What We Do

What Is Included in Our Fascia, Soffit & Gutter Replacement Service

Free Survey & Written Quote

We visit your property, inspect the full roofline, check for any underlying timber rot or rafter damage, and give you a detailed written quote covering all elements of the work. No surprises.

Full Removal of Old System

All existing guttering, fascias, soffits and downpipes are removed completely and disposed of responsibly. We never cap over old rotting timber — it is removed and replaced correctly.

Timber Inspection & Replacement

Before any uPVC goes on, we inspect all rafter ends, soffit carriers and associated timbers for rot. Any defective timber is replaced as part of the job so the new system has a sound base to fix to.

Quality uPVC Installation

New fascias, soffits and gutters are installed using quality uPVC products in your chosen profile and colour. All guttering is installed with the correct fall and bracket spacing, and all joints are properly sealed.

Ventilation & Dry Verge Where Needed

Vented soffits are installed where required to maintain correct roof space airflow. Dry verge systems are installed on gable ends if the mortar verge is deteriorating — all discussed and quoted before work starts.

Full Site Clean-Up & Guarantee

All old materials are removed from site on completion. Your property is left clean and tidy. Every roofline installation we carry out is covered by our written workmanship guarantee.

Signs Your Meath Home Needs
New Fascias, Soffits or Gutters

Many homeowners put off roofline work because the problems develop gradually and are not immediately obvious. Here are the signs to watch for:

Gutters Overflowing During Rain

If water is pouring over the front of your gutters during rainfall rather than flowing to the downpipe, the gutters are either blocked, sagging, cracked, or undersized. Left unaddressed, this causes water to saturate the fascia board, the soffit, and eventually the wall below.

Visible Cracks or Gaps in the Soffit

Cracked soffits allow birds and pests to access the roof space and break the seal that protects the rafter ends from the weather. Once birds or squirrels are nesting in your roof space, the problems they cause are significant and expensive to resolve.

Gutters Pulling Away From the House

If your guttering is visibly pulling away from the fascia board, it is usually because the fascia itself is rotting and can no longer hold the bracket fixings. This will not improve — it needs to be replaced before the guttering falls away entirely.

Damp Patches on External Walls

Persistent damp patches on the wall just below the roofline — particularly on gable ends — are often caused by blocked or overflowing gutters or leaking downpipes. They look like a simple cosmetic issue but indicate ongoing water damage that will worsen.

Your Home Has Original Timber Fascias

If your home was built before the mid-1990s, it almost certainly has original timber fascias and soffits. These have a practical lifespan of 20 to 30 years before rot becomes an issue. If they have not been replaced, it is worth having them inspected — the cost of replacement is far lower than the cost of repairing the timber and structural damage that rot causes if left to progress.

Fascia, Soffit & Gutter FAQs - Meath Homeowners' Most Common Questions

Quality uPVC fascia and soffit installed correctly has a practical lifespan of 25 to 40 years and requires no painting, treatment or regular maintenance. It simply needs an occasional wash down to keep it looking clean.

This is called capping or over-capping and while it is sometimes done, we do not recommend it and we do not do it. Capping traps any existing moisture in the timber behind the new uPVC, accelerating rot and ultimately causing the new installation to fail prematurely. Removing the old timber and starting with a sound base is the only way to ensure the new system lasts.

We install uPVC roofline products in white, anthracite grey, black ash, rosewood, cream and chartwell green. White is by far the most popular choice across Meath. We bring samples to every survey so you can see the colours against your property before making a decision.

It depends on the cause. Blocked gutters simply need clearing. Gutters that sag, have cracked sections or leaking joints may need partial or full replacement. Gutters that are too small for the roof area they are serving may need to be upgraded to a deeper profile. We will assess the cause of the problem honestly and advise you accordingly.

A typical semi-detached home takes one to two days. Larger detached homes or properties with more complex rooflines may take two to three days. We will give you a realistic programme as part of your written quote.

Almost always yes. The guttering is fixed directly to the fascia board. When the fascia is replaced, the guttering has to come off anyway — so it makes practical and financial sense to install new guttering at the same time rather than refitting old gutters onto a new fascia board.
